The stars are out, Jackson
Soft and whispery, cloudlets of desire
In one rampant carefree action
Cover the bleeding with their benevolent fire
Something is wrong - a lingering
A careless complacency of love
Dark and cold times - naive, empty rhymes
And a hopeful scanning for light
The stars are out, Jackson
Beautiful and free
They offer us protection
And shine for all to see
Some things are right - an embrace
A bright future for a lost human race
Forgive these clumsy, benevolent lines
I speak only of the moon that so courageously shines
